Upper Tsangpo? You might have seen the article in Outside Magazine about the first kayak descent of Tibet's Upper Tsangpo River led by Scott Lindgren ... the article, dispatches, etc. are no longer on line but books and video are available below. The image in this gorgeous stone reminded me of the great river.
The stone was marked "Montegrosso Jasper" and I have used other pieces of it from Gary Wilson which are quite different from this. I'm wondering if it comes from Monte Grosso, the mountain in Corsica? I can't seem to find out anything about it. Whatever the source, this is a lovely, highly polished stone. I made a setting with mountains to reflect the theme of the stone. The necklace is adjustable, and has an additional hook-in extension made with the same pearls which extends the length to 38". I hope you will enjoy it!
