This rose quartz is unusually clear. Dr. Pough remarks that the failure to find large well-formed crystals of rose quartz is a geological
mystery. He says there may be basic differences between the common solid rose quartz of pegmatite cores and the occurrences
of pink-hued, slightly cloudy, late-formed crystals often associated with pink chalcedony. He notes that Brazil has produced some beautiful
specimens of pink crystals. The stones in this necklace have a tinge of cloudiness, just enough to make me believe that they are
in fact authentic specimens as the dealer averred and not synthetic quartz.
I must admit I've never been particularly fond of rose quartz. It has always seemed rather tepid and uninspiring. However, when
I found this set of faceted beads my rose quartz world spun on its ear. It was love! Indeed, love is one of the primary
attributes of rose quartz. The beads sat on my table for a long time, then they'd go back into the quartz drawer, then they would
come out again. Eventually I decided I really had nothing to add except nice pearl knotting and 18k gold findings. The stones are amazing
and perfect just as they are. The Book of Stones says the gifts of rose quartz include healing the heart of its wounds
and reawakening its trust. I do hope you will love this necklace.
