This gorgeous stone has an entire mountain range in it as well as a forest! The rough lower edge contributes to the sense that you are looking at a lovely landscape. I cast some silver clouds in a cuttlebone mold and added a coin pearl moon. A tiny elk grazes on the reverse.
The necklace is needlewoven and encrusted with all manner of little stones and pearls which pick up the colors of the centerpiece. You may be concerned that
the mountain tops will be fragile. Now of course you want to treat any beautiful stone with a certain amount of care. However, the stone seems to be very sturdy,
it is very thick and the silver backing follows the contour of the the stone to protect it well.
This necklace had a little adventure recently. You may have noticed that for a time, it was marked "stolen" -- it was lost along with six other new necklaces when my beloved truck was stolen. My truck was found and returned, but the work was gone.
After a time, a concerned citizen came into possession of this necklace, read my logo tag, looked up Virgo Moon and
contacted me! Thank you SO MUCH for returning this piece! It has now found its rightful owner. I hope she will enjoy the wild stories this necklace must have to tell.
