Autumn Sunset Necklace and Earrings |
These cabochons of Madagascar jasper have lovely scenes. The removable pendant is slightly translucent, beautifully polished except for the interesting little irregular concavity which is difficult to see in the photo. I left the back of the pendant open to let light through. The Peruvian blue opal was a great find, the colors complement the jasper perfectly, as does the apatite. Apatite is said to be named from the Greek apate, “deception," because it resembles other stones. These beads are translucent, a very pretty color. The multi-colored rutilated quartz beads pick up all the browns and golds in the cabs, and the curious flat pearls provide a happy accent. The sterling post earrings are delightfully different from one another, made from small cabs of the jasper. The price includes the earrings but if you want the necklace by itself, please contact me. PLEASE NOTE! This necklace was re-constructed after the photo was taken. The triangular cabochon on the upper left hand side of the necklace has been removed and made into another pendant. Please click on the "details" button to see detailed shots and the re-constructed necklace at the bottom of the "details" page. This necklace is featured in Margie Deeb's fabulous book The Beader's Color Palette (see below). |
