This piece is very delicate and can be worn as one long strand or wrapped twice (if you have a smallish neck). Please look at the detailed photo to see the pretty little stones and tiny pearls! The tourmaline slices have a green rind and are mostly clear inside with a bit of golden spangles, very unusual for watermelon tourmaline! Keshi pearls are natural, usually saltwater pearls which form as a byproduct of cultured pearl production. They have no nucleus so are called "seedless." Keshi means "poppy" in Japanese, a reference to the poppy seed size of the first keshi pearls observed. Keshi pearls have an exquisite luster. The necklace is hand knotted, with tiny gold-plated charlottes on either side of each tourmaline. Carlottes are seed beads with one polished face, so they gleam sweetly. The 14k gold clasp is a very secure lobster style in the shape of a heart. |
