Purse Ornament

It's fun to have a nice tassel on a favorite purse. This one is way huge. I made it for a friend who loved the desert scene in the cabochon and the stunning Tom Boylan borosilicate bead. (Boro is very tough glass and more suitable than soda lime glass for an application like this.) So the tassel became quite large and dramatic -- suitable for her backpack!

For those of you who have figured out my page naming scheme, you may think that this piece was part of my 2016 collection. No, I made it in 2001 and the fiber that I used originally stretched a bit over the last 15 years. I re-made it using bead cable so it won't be able to stretch again. And took better photos!
