It's sort of silly to name this necklace "three orange dots" since there are actually six dots, but only three are visible at a time! Karen's beads have the most remarkable shapes and finishes, it can be a little daunting to blend beads with them. The lapis in this piece is beautifully cut and polished, but the material is a bit unusual-- quite grey, so it blends nicely. The sponge coral and bits of lemon chrysoprase pick up the other colors in the bead. The absurd tassel consists mostly of 15/o seed Japanese round seed beads. The necklace is strung on cable for strength. It is signed and dated. |
